We are delighted to announce the availability on this website of Professor John Trim’s revised draft specification for Breakthrough, which adds key insights into the A1 level of English language learning in the CEFR framework. The Breakthrough specification has not previously been available to the public.
Regular readers of the site will know that the T-series was developed by Jan van Ek and John Trim and that the Waystage, Threshold (first published in 1991) and Vantage (first published in 2001) books cover the CEFR levels A2, B1 and B2, respectively.
We hope that making this manuscript and these titles available in digital format will help researchers and others maximise their use of these valuable resources.
