We are delighted to announce the availability on this website of Professor John Trim’s revised draft John Trim at an English Profile seminarspecification for Breakthrough, which adds key insights into the A1 level of English language learning in the Common European Framework (CEF). The Breakthrough specification has not previously been available to the public. In addition to this, we are also pleased to announce the availability, in digital format, of the other three titles in the T-series of language level descriptors: Waystage, Threshold and Vantage.

Regular readers of the site will know that the T-series was developed by Jan van Ek and John Trim and that the Waystage, Threshold (first published by the Council of Europe in 1991) and Vantage (first published by the Council of Europe in 2001) books cover the CEF levels A2, B1 and B2 respectively.  We hope that making these titles available in digital format will help researchers and others maximise their use of these valuable resources.
